Kitson
liked working at the Centre. Really, there was very little work involved; a bit
of admin, making weekly reports to the governor, checking that all the doors to
the rooms were sound. They were definitely rooms, not cells. This wasn’t a
prison, it was a correctional institution. As long as the doors were soundproof
and he didn’t have to come face-to-face with the inhabitants, it was okay to
tell himself that.

So many different characters with their distinctive traits. How did you manage it , Nick? Wonder if Kitson is good or naive. Thanks for the peek into them.
Best wishes,

oh what a tangled web we weave
when first we practice to deceive
and I guess nowhere is the web more tangled than when we deceive our own selves. Wonder how long he'll manage to keep up the deception?

Sheesh, sure keep telling yourself that...

A prison is a prison by any other name. Another gem Nick.
K day in Amble Bay!
I believe Kitson is a bit delusional in thinking a correctional institution isn't a prison. lol If you can't come or go as you please then you're either (a) still living at home with your parents or (b) you're in prison and trust me when I say most kids feel like their in prison. They have no idea how good they have it at home. lol
Please come by for Art Sketching Through the Alphabet with Curious as a Cathy when you have a sec! Have a good day & happy a2zjing!
Well now, that was quite the ominous ending. I'm inclined to think the Centre isn't all that it seems to be.

Oh-oh, Kitson. You better watch that attitude or you might make a good Nazi.

Wow. Very intense. Not sure I agree with Tamara. We survive however we can, even if it involves lying to ourselves. I believe the German people (civilians) suffered much regret after the war.

Sounds like the Centre is much more ominous than it appears. Sometimes, you have to block things out to get along.

Now I'm wondering just what's going on inside those rooms. It sounds rather ominous!

The soundproof rooms that each person was put in individually, right? I'm sure he doesn't want to hear the inhabitants...

Very much within the ambit of an admin. employee. Relevant to a correctional rather than prison gates!

Hi Nick - poor Kitson - he's not very confident is he ... so many troubles he could find himself in or get into ...
The only Kitson I think of ... is a friend's cat in South Africa - we had oysters ... Kitson had oysters! Pampered beast ... cheers Hilary

A cushy job requiring only medium levels of denial. Nice. ;)
