IWSG

It's time for another posting of the Insecure Writers' Support Group hosted by the fearless Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh. This is where us writers can share our insecurities and offer encouragement without fear of ridicule. Our cohosts today are Chemist Ken, Suzanne Sapseed, and Shannon Lawrence.

Unfortunately, I kind of blanked on the IWSG coming up today (I know, right??) and already posted about my insecurities on Monday, which kind of covers things. So the best thing I can do is link you to that post. Feel free to comment either here or there! And go here to check out the full list of participants.

You just got an early start, that's all!

Have you ever used a beat sheet-style outline? Jami Gold has some on her blog under the section for writers. They really help with getting the plot's climax and turning points right. *shrugs* Reading the prompts on one of those might wake up your muse.

Good luck with your writing, Nick. I'm sure you'll work it out. :)

IWSG #142 until Alex culls the list again.

That's okay, a blind spot means your creative mind was busy :) Read your Monday psst and see you have some exciting plans. Good luck with the map. You'll get there!

I need 2015 to pick up in the productivity department too.

Can I comment here for both Monday and today? Hope that's ok.
You're planning - wow! Although I'm more of a panster, I can definitely say that at least having a minimal plan and an underlying theme helps keep the momentum going. I hope you have a chance to create that map - maybe literally, if needed.
And best wishes with your submissions!

Better early than never I guess. Everyone keeps writing about the A to Z, but I just don't think I have it in me to go with it this year. Good luck with the writing and the Challenge.

I saw your monday post and thought it would make a good ISWG post as well. Hey, you remembered to post, right?

Hang in there Nick, it will sort itself all out :)

Maybe your post got caught in a wormhole and ended up two days early. Yeah, that's it.

Good luck with your submission and the rest of your goals. Plans have helped me get through tight spots, so I'm sure it will help you too.

Hey, that's okay! :) I have a tendency to forget several months at a time. No problem posting early! :)

You were insecure about being late...so you posted early! :)

There's still so much of 2015 left, and lots of time to kick it up a notch! I think a little bit of self-imposed pressure is good. It's a lot better than not caring, right? :)

It's still near the beginning of the year. You have time, and sitting down working through it is still working on it. :) Have a lovely weekend.

Hey, Nick, hope you're working through your plan and writing hard.

I think I've managed to forget about IWSP every month. Somehow I always think it's such an amazing idea and never get it incorporated. One of these months...

Don't be too hard on yourself, Nick! It's only March and you still have plenty of time to increase that productivity. Sometimes you just need a break to refresh your brain or catch up on other "housekeeping" type things with other projects. Hope that planning is going well for you!

I can understand what you're going through. I always feel a certain pressure to have things together in a draft, rather than relying on editing later on to get things right. You'll figure out your story. Good luck with it!

Blanking is permitted. At least I hope so. I've done it a few times and I know there's some blanking in my future.

Yeah. Our insecurities tend to flow through multiple days, don't they?

Ha. At least you remembered to post at all! I've been in an 'everything' slump for a while which apparently lately has extended itself into a blogging slump too! Terrible! ;)

But I'm determined to change things!! I really need a chart of tasks that I do each day, one of which is checking out the blogisphere. Hmmm, will work on that. :P

On the IWSG week, I try not to mention by insecurities on my Monday Mishmash post, because I sometimes do that.

At least you posted! I was at the hospital with my new grand baby's birth and week long NICU stay. But as you know, sh'e home and doing great, so yay!

Congrats on your edits. Things have been really good so far for me this year. Hope it stays great!
