Overcoming Adversity Launch Day!

It's here! A few short weeks ago, I invited my wonderful friends to contribute a short piece on the theme of Overcoming Adversity for a bloghop, following which I would compile them for an anthology to raise money for my stepson's college fund.

I never could have anticipated the overwhelming response I had, shining a light on the generosity and warmth of spirit of this amazing community. The final tally of flash fiction pieces, real life stories, and poems stands at seventy, and each is inspiring in its own right, adding up to a fabulous and uplifting book that I'm proud to release.

Andrew follows all his fundraising events with great interest and he also wants to extend his thanks. He loves the cover! Huge thanks to two talented ladies, DRC who designed it and Ella Wilson who originated the idea. Soon, I'll be revealing the full story behind the concept.

So, here are all the details for this lovely book...

Blurb:
A collection of seventy moving and uplifting original pieces - real life, flash fiction, and poetry - about battling against the odds and the ultimate triumph of the human spirit. The contributors include Amazon bestselling authors Alex J. Cavanaugh and Kyra Lennon, and the cream of upcoming talent.

The anthology is part of a fundraising effort to send the editor's stepson, Andrew McNaughton, to a specialist college in England. Andrew has cerebral palsy, and is a remarkable young man with a promising future. However, the free further education options offered in his own country of Scotland will not challenge him and allow him to progress. In order to access the education he deserves, Andrew will have to pay exorbitant fees, thus creating a situation of discrimination.

Help us get Andrew to college by buying a book that runs the full gamut of human emotions, ultimately leaving you inspired and glad to be alive. Whatever struggles you are going through, our sincere hope is that this book will help.

Purchase Links:

For those asking about paperbacks, this is in the works, and hopefully they'll be ready in the next couple of days. Watch this space!

All that remains is to once again say THANK YOU (not tired of saying this yet) and please consider spending a few pennies (or cents) on an inspirational book, and make a difference to Andrew's future and that of others with complex specialist needs.

Congratulations on putting this together- and I'm very sorry that I didn't know about the hop in time... but I'll certainly post the details and links later on in the week in the hope that it helps a little. I work for Lifeworks, a charity based in Devon, I am their community fundraiser and we have started a specialist college for young people with learning disabilities. So I'm all too aware of your needs and frustrations! I hope that you raise the funds you need - the very best of luck! Off to nab my copy
