So that took me away from actual editing, but was necessary.<br /><br />I'm all right with putting 'placeholders' in. For all you know, by the time you're done with the novel you may find that you don't need one of those placeholders anymore, so didn't "waste time" writing it. A good trick is to have another project you're also working on. I can't put placeholders in and come back later. My brain just doesn't work that way. The way you work may just be different, and that doesn't make it wrong.
